Meringo!

On the night of the menu taster Simon Rowe of Radio West Norfolk came up with the name ‘Meringo’ on the fly as Mr & Mrs Tipsy didn’t yet have a name for it. Simon is a man of many talents, please download the Radio West Norfolk app by clicking here

Located in the heart of King's Lynn town centre, Tipsy Teapot is a unique and magical place where you can discover the most amazing and unusual drinks that transform into smoke when you drink them and incredible food such as the peanut butter & jelly burger! If you haven't heard of Tipsy Teapot, where have you been? During the menu taster event, Simon Rowe of Radio West Norfolk even came up with the name 'Meringo' on the fly as Mr and Mrs Tipsy didn't have a name for it yet. Simon is a man of many talents, and we encourage you to download the Radio West Norfolk app. The venue itself is meticulously designed, ensuring that no matter where you take a photo, it will look stunning – even in the ladies' room! I was delighted to be invited by Mr and Mrs Tipsy to try their amazing food before the menu's official launch, and it was truly one of the highlights of the year for me and my family.

The burger and soft baked loaded cookie were simply divine, and the whole experience was like stepping into a fantastical world that blends the whimsy of Alice in Wonderland with the decadence of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. From edible teacup cheesecakes to the stunning 'Meringos', which are mouth-watering meringues shaped like flamingos and topped with fresh strawberries, every detail is pure magic. And don't be fooled by what you see through the window - there's so much more to discover inside the enchanting world of The Tipsy!

“Through the looking glass”

When you step through the soundproof door upstairs at Tipsy Teapot, you're in for a magical surprise. Meet "Mingo Keith," a giant flamingo sporting a monocle, who greets you and transports you to another world. As a resident magician, I've had the pleasure of performing for numerous events at this amazing venue, including the NHS work party and a 50th birthday celebration.

Every Thursday night, I go #DownTheRabbitHole at Tipsy Teapot, where I love practising new magic and keeping my performances fresh for returning guests. I'm grateful to Neil and Lisa, aka Mr and Mrs Tipsy, for the opportunity to be a part of their madness, and I also want to extend my thanks to the bar and kitchen staff for their warm welcome and support.

Mingo Keith!

” I followed the flamingo, curious to see
This place of weird and wonder
That he had told to me

I heard the party music
As he opened up the door
An emporium of madness
A fantasy décor

Chandeliers from teacups
Top hats that lit the way
Portraits, palms and flower walls
A magical display

The tipsy teapot restaurant
Hid a party bar upstairs
A decadent speakeasy
With gilded birdcage chairs “

What does the magician recommend?

“For the food, hands down the Peanut butter & Jelly burger, there is so much to try including the ‘Beat the meat’ challenge, but currently this is the thing you need to try!

For the drink, I can 100% say that Curiosity Drops is my favourite drink, not just in Tipsy Teapot but everywhere I go I have to talk people through how to make it!”

So check your calendar and if you’re free this Thursday book in, try some weird and wonderful food with some crazy drinks and experience some award-winning magic.
